After-School Classes

During Preschool hours (9-12) children have special area classes. These classes include Music, Art, Science, Movement, and Spanish. All classes are taught by specialist in their field.

After school programs are also offered to children for additional fees. These programs include Ballet and Tumble to the Max.

Ballet

Ballet is taught by Casey Ross-Russell. She has danced in New York City with the Martha Graham Dance Company and is a graduate of the Youth Performing Arts School. Casey is a former faculty member of the Louisville Ballet School and is currently teaching dancing with CATS in Jefferson County Public Schools. She has taught children all forms of dance for ten years and loves her job.

Class size will be limited to 15 children ages 3 to 5 and all forms of disciplines of Ballet will be taught. Each step is explained and why it is done. There will be a performance for everyone at the end of the year. Everyone is invited and cameras and video devices are welcome!

Casey’s objective is to teach children in a nurturing and disciplined environment while they learn dance fundamentals and have lots of fun. She would encourage you to have your child continue through the full year. They will be rewarded for their accomplishments.

Tumble to the Max

Tumble to the Max's goal is to promote the healthy physical and mental development of children ages two and older by offering recreational gymnastics and fitness programs at school.

Objectives:

  • Teach strength, flexibility, balance, rhythm and motor skills, as well as basic gymnastics, tumbling, fitness and sports skills
  • Stimulate the natural creativity and energy of the child
  • Develop self-confidence and self-esteem
  • Create a fun, educational atmosphere

About the classes:

  • Music and motion will create excitement from the first moments of class. All warm-up activities include aerobics, rhythm and/or stretching exercise.
  • The thirty minute class will allow us to finish the session with a fun little activity each week to cool the kids down and help get them settled before returning to their schoolroom.
  • We do many activities as a group. We know children do not appreciate “down time”, so we always keep moving. Even when we must work one-on-one we encourage everyone to participate by clapping for their friends. This is a great way to build confidence and spirit!
